NOMINATION PERIOD
The nomination period for the Amazing Teachers promotion (the “Promotion”) begins at 12:01 a.m. _October 3, 2019 _CST and ends on ______June 8, 2020____ (the “Nomination Period”).

The following publications are participating in this Promotion (the “Publication” or “Publications”): LakeNewsOnline.com, Lake Sun, Lake Leader
ELIGIBILITY - NOMINATOR
The parent or legal guardian of any student currently enrolled in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in a public, private, alternative, parochial, or home study program within (50) miles of the circulation area of the Publication (the “Eligibility Area”) and who also resides in the Eligibility Area (the “Nominator” or “Nominators”) may enter an Essay (as defined below) in this Promotion. Nominators who are employees, contractors or interns of GateHouse Media, LLC or ___________Slumberland Furniture Store__at the Lake_______________________, Inc. (together, “GateHouse Media”), as well as the businesses appearing on this page (the “Business” or “Businesses”), and each of their respective divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (including, in each case, immediate family members) are not eligible to enter the Promotion. For purposes of this Promotion, “immediate family members” is defined as spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws", or by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other familial extension, and any other persons residing at the same household location, whether or not related. In order to enter the Promotion, the Nominator must comply fully with these Official Rules (the “Rules”), and by entering agrees to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of GateHouse Media, whose decisions shall be binding and final in all respects.
ELIGIBILITY – NOMINATED TEACHER
The nominated Teacher (as defined below) must be actively employed as a teacher for pre-kindergarten through grade twelve in a public, private, alternative, parochial, or home study program in the Eligibility Area. The nominated Teacher should not be an immediate family member of any employees, contractors or interns of GateHouse Media or the Businesses, or their respective divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies.
NOMINATION RULES AND HOW TO SUBMIT THE NOMINATION ESSAY
1. The object of the Promotion is to honor teachers (the “Teacher” or “Teachers”) who have made a difference in the lives of children in the community. The Teacher must be currently employed in the education profession.
2. The Nominator must submit an essay or thank you letter, three hundred (300) words or less, on why they are nominating the Teacher (the “Nomination Essay” or the “Nomination Essays”). The Nominator should log on to the following website: www.LakeNewsOnline.com . (the “Website”) during the Nomination Period, provide all requested information, including the Nomination Essay, in the required fields as instructed on the Website. The Nominator should then click “submit” (the “Submission” or “Submissions”).
3. The Nominator may nominate more than one teacher in this Promotion, but each nomination should have a separate Nomination Essay and be submitted separately.
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE OFFICES OF THE PUBLICATION BY 11:59 P.M. _CST ON ________JUNE 8, 2020 ________________________ (THE “SUBMISSION DEADLINE”). NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME.
Submissions will not be accepted through e-mail, via facsimile, postal mail or at the offices of the Publication.
JUDGING OF THE NOMINATION ESSAYS
Each of the Nomination Essays will be judged by a panel selected by the Publication. Judging criteria include the overall impact of the Nomination Essay (25%) and the Teacher’s contribution to the profession and community (75%). All decisions by the judges will be final and binding as to all matters.
Selection of the Winners
___ONE TEACHER PER CALENDAR MONTH________ (8) Teachers will be selected as winners based on the Judging Criteria (the “Winner” or “Winners”).
PRIZES; ODDS OF WINNING
- Each Monthly Winner will receive ________a slumberland gift baske ______________________ (ARV - $__75____).
The potential Winners will be notified by phone or overnight mail in accordance with the contact information provided. The Winner must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release in order to be eligible to accept the prize. The prize must be picked up by the Winner at the offices of the Publication or the Winner must make alternate arrangements with the Publication. The offices of the Publication are open Monday through Friday during normal business hours, and closed on Saturday and Sunday.
No substitution or transfer of the prize will be allowed, except at the sole discretion of GateHouse Media. GateHouse Media reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. All local, state and federal taxes incurred by accepting a prize will be the sole responsibility of the Winner. The prize has no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash at any time. No compensation will be given for lost, stolen, mutilated or expired gift cards or gift certificates. GateHouse Media is not responsible for replacing lost, stolen, mutilated or expired gift cards or gift certificates. Fulfillment of gift cards and gift certificates is the sole responsibility of the merchant, not GateHouse Media, and is only redeemable at the specified locations. The gift certificate or gift card must be surrendered upon redemption and no photocopies or reproductions will be honored. All gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions regarding use, loss, theft, and redemption and all other terms and conditions established by the merchant providing that gift card. Any questions or issues regarding gift cards must be directed to the merchant customer service center, and will be handled exclusively by the merchant.
Odds of winning depend on the number of Submissions received and the quality of the Nomination Essays received, as judged pursuant to these Rules.
GRANT OF RIGHTS
Upon submitting the Essay, the Nominator grants to GateHouse Media and its affiliates the worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual license to copy, publish, distribute, promote, perform, edit, create derivative works of, or otherwise use portions of the Essay, without charge, for any purpose in connection with this Promotion or GateHouse Media or its affiliates’ businesses in any format, media or technology now known or later developed for the full term of any copyright that may exist in the Nominator’s Essay.
INTERNET
It is the Nominator’s responsibility to enter this Promotion in the appropriate manner. Each Nominator is responsible for all costs or charges involved in accessing the Publication’s website and warrants that the cost of accessing the site, if any, is part of a larger agreement with an Internet Service Provider or some other means, and that the cost of this access is not an incremental cost. If for any reason the internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of GateHouse Media which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Promotion, GateHouse Media reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the nomination process, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Promotion. GateHouse Media assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft, or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of Nomination Essays. GateHouse Media is not responsible for lost, misdirected, illegible, damaged or undelivered Nomination Essays. GateHouse Media is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, services or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or Nomination Essay to be received due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading of any material in this Promotion. CAUTION: Any attempt by a Nominator to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, GateHouse Media reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. In the event of a dispute, Nomination Essays submitted by Internet will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of the nomination. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Automated nominations are prohibited, and any use of such devices will cause disqualification. Collection and use of personally identifiable information will be in accordance with the Publication’s Privacy Policy as posted on the Publication’s website.
CONDITIONS
By entering, the Nominator agrees to comply with these Official Rules and the decisions of GateHouse Media, which are binding and final, and release GateHouse Media, and each of its divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and anyone associated with the production of this Promotion, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any claims, injuries, losses or damages (including attorneys fees) of any kind arising out of their participation in this Promotion. Acceptance of a certificate in the Promotion constitutes permission to use the Nurse’s name, photograph, likeness, Promotion submissions and/or statements attributed to the Nurse regarding the Promotion, for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation or consent. All Nomination Essays become the property of GateHouse Media. This Promotion shall only be construed and evaluated according to the laws of the state of New York, without regard to the principles of conflicts of laws and submission of any Nomination Essay constitutes acceptance of such laws. This Promotion is void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
GateHouse Media and its affiliates reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Promotion, including information on Nominators or Nurses obtained through the Promotion, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
GateHouse Media and their affiliates reserve the right to change the rules of the Promotion at any time.
